Two Days Off in Netherlands for NJCAA All-Stars

Amsterdam is just a short train ride from Haarlem.

Players and staff of the NJCAA Baseball All-Stars enjoyed two days off (Tuesday and Wednesday) and many took advantage of the down time to experience the Netherlands. Many took the train into Amsterdam (15 minutes away) and witnessed Dutch citizens welcome home their national soccer team at the club’s parade downtown on the waterfront. Others stayed in the Haarlem area and went sightseeing downtown and a few took the train to the beach (20 minutes away). The team practiced Tuesday and is ready for the second round of play tomorrow. The United States takes on Netherlands, which defeated Cuba last night 10-0, at 7 p.m. (1 p.m. Eastern) on Thursday. The Netherlands team is a very experienced group as their youngest player is 21 and they have many members of their team over the age of 30. The NJCAA All-Stars are the lone team to score a run off of the host team through 36 innings of play.
