Rymes, the NJCAA Division II Player of the Year and First-Team All-American selection, was instrumental in LSU – Eunice’s run to the 2010 DII World Series title. Rhymes was the top RBI producer in the NJCAA Division II ranks, driving in 94 runs on the year to go with a .491 batting average (7th in NJCAA DII). His 105 total hits for the season also led all batters nationally and his 28 doubles were also tied for the top spot. Rhymes also smacked 12 home runs on the season and posted a slugging percentage of .827. His stellar play helped lead the Bengals to their third national title since 2006. At the DII World Series, Rhymes was 10-for-24 in the batters box with three doubles and four RBIs. Rhymes will transfer next season to LSU Baton Rouge (NCAA Division I).
